Purchase or Order Books of Readings (Course-packs)
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How can I purchase or order my readings books from Waikato Print?
Every fully enrolled student can either directly purchase or order his/her course readings books (course-packs) from The Waikato Print Shop on Hamilton Campus or order them online via iWaikato once the books are signed off by a department. In the shop, you can pay by EFTPOS card, Visa/Master Credit card, Debt card, cash or cheque. If you order online via iWaikato (https://i.waikato.ac.nz), you will need a Visa/Master Credit or Debit card.
2. How can I order online if I do not have a Visa/Master card?
If you do not have a Credit or Debit Card, you can pay by internet banking. To do this, use the automated 'shopping mall email' (mall_printery@waikato.ac.nz) on the Shopping Mall ordering screen. You will need to email us your Name, Student ID Number, Full Paper Code, and Delivery Address. We will email you the details required. When your payment is confirmed, we will despatch all the books you ordered. Web ordering is for pre payment only. If you want to pay when you pick up you need to order in person at the appropriate shop.
3. What is stopping me from entering credit card details when ordering my books in Shopping Mall?
This would be an issue with your security settings. You will need to turn OFF the pop-up Blocker on your web browser before you can successfully submit a web order. You may need a computer professional's help If you still cannot enter your credit details after you turn OFF the pop-up blocker.
4. How do I turn my Pop-up Blocker off?
Pop-up Blocker is turned on in Internet Explorer by default. To turn it off (or to turn it on again if you've already turned it off), follow these steps:
To turn Pop-up Blocker off:
- In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Pop-up Blocker.
- Do one of the following:
To turn off Pop-up Blocker, click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

5. Why my readings book is not on the ordering list?
Only those books that have been signed off by a department are available for students to purchase or order from either our shop counters or online via iWaikato. The lists of books available are updated all the time especially during the week before a new semester.
6. For each paper I am enrolled in, is there a readings book to purchase from WP?
Not every paper the University offers has readings books. Some lecturers use text books rather than preparing course-packs or readings books. Check with your lecturers to see what books you will need to buy.
7. Why do I have to pay the $6 courier fee?
A $6 courier fee is charged on each courier pack (not per book posted) when a courier has to deliver the books to your home address. If you do not want to pay this fee, you have to collect your books form Waikato Print Shop counter or from the Tauranga Campus for TGA enrolled students.
8. Can I order my readings books over the phone?
No. For security and other reasons, we cannot accept your credit card numbers over the phone. You can purchase or order your course readings books from Waikato Print Shop or order them online via iWaikato once the books are available.
9. If I am not enrolled in a paper, can I purchase a course-pack (readings book) for this paper?
No, you cannot purchase a course-pack without being enrolled in the paper. A course-pack is only available for those students who are fully enrolled in the paper.
10. Can I purchase a second copy of a course-pack if I lost my copy?
Yes, enrolled students are allowed to purchase a replacement copy if you have lost your copy. However, you cannot do this online.
11. What other help is available to me?
If you have any other issues not covered here, please enquire using the 'shopping mall email' (mall_printery@waikato.ac.nz) on the Shopping Mall ordering screen. We will get back to you within a day.
